No Visio on Macs :-(

Started working on Macs recently and got to know that there's no Visio on Mac :-(. Visio is my favorite tool for all things drawn - UML diagrams, architecture diagrams, everything. The flexibility and the breath of what's possible in Visio is enormous. I stumbled for sometime to realize a block diagram in Skitch but then finally gave up. OmniGraffle is a good alternative. Still a learning curve but very close to Visio.

  1. Have a look at the Dia drawing app https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Dia for Unix / Windows / MacOs X. It's what I use when I don't have Visio.

  2. Both online and standalone mac solutions are there. Creately is a comprehensive visio solution for mac. Its a great visio for mac solution to be used in OSX + online. There are many diagram types including flowcharts, org charts, mind maps, etc. There are 100s of examples and templates in the diagram community of Creately. They are free to be used to create any diagram.
